Spotify is releasing an eight part podcast about The Clash. It's called Stay Free: The Story of The Clash and will be narrated by Chuck D of Public Enemy. It's out via Spotify on February 28.

Stay Free: The Story of The Clash is a new podcast series, tracing the origins, rise, and fall of The Clash, excellently narrated by Chuck D (Public Enemy), tracing their journey from London squats to Shea Stadium glory. He comments:

Episode 4: Complete Control

The Clash abandon Rehearsal Rehearsals and move to Vanilla Studios. Drummer Topper Headon reveals himself as the band’s secret weapon, and they record one of rock’s all-time great albums, London Calling.

The Clash head out into the heartland of America and, for the first time, experience the emotional isolation of a long tour. Their lives change forever when they reach the place that’s to become their second home, New York City.

The eight-part podcast, produced by Spotify and BBC Studios, follows Joe Strummer and the legendary punk heroes from their origins at the 1976 Notting Hill riots, to their clashes with the National Front, their struggle for creative control and their later experiments in funk, jazz, reggae and dub.
